Fire-Service-Exercise-06-03-2023 (!)
The WPR and DTG undertook a joint practice exercise with the Waipara and Amberley volunteer fire brigades & St Johns Ambulance. The simulation was staged 2 km from Glenmark Station. A van waiting for an oncoming train was 'hit' from behind by a drunk driver and pushed onto tracks. The van was then hit by the train and tipped on its side with the occupant trapped inside. A chemical spill happened on the train that also had to be dealt with. A very interesting exercise to be a part of. It also shows what can be achieved in the community with volunteers. Approximately 40 people volunteered their Monday night for this valuable exercise.

The Weka Pass Railway has a substantial collection of passenger carriages and also a number of wagons which serve a variety of purposes on the Weka Pass Railway. Some of the freight wagons have been acquired to demonstrate vehicles once typical of the line and for use on the occasional period display train, while others see regular use as members of the work train.

As at November 2014, the Weka Pass Railway has 12 passenger cars and guards vans, 19 freight wagons and 12 track maintenance vehicles.
